My Dimensional Rug Hooking Blog

In my art I find myself traveling many different avenues of mediums. One of my favorites is rug hooking. This love prompted me to start a blog called dimensional rug hooking. Some of those who follow my art are interested in Rug Hooking and Needle Punch only. Since I also am a doll maker I felt that it was a good idea to try to separate the two. Although I still do post my rug hooking creations here in my BeFRuiTFuL KReaTioNS Blog

Over the last week I have been working on a Rug Hooked Cat Purse.  I am hoping to make this into my next pattern. This will be a little challenging to write a pattern for so wish me luck with this.

Our Cat has been the model for this purse. Here he is.

I will be posting photos of the cat purse shortly.

Bessy Angel Bunny

I finally tried my hand at Needle Punch. This little gal is of course 3 dimensional. She is not yet finished but couldn't wait to share her with you all. The back side is of course also finished. She is free standing and weighted.

As I stated above the back side is also finished.  If you haven't tried your hand at punch needle embroidery give it a try. It is a lot of fun.

This beauty has found a new home in Michigan.

Teaching Classes

This week I was asked if I would teach a class on my Three Dimensional Pumpkin. I want every one to Know that I would be happy to teach classes on any of my Dimensional pieces. Please contact me directly for this.

It was also brought to my attention that some people have been asked to teach my process of making some of my dimensional rug hooked creations. So I thought I would make this clear how I feel about this.

Please do not use my patterns to teach classes. I work hard to come up with the unique pieces I create and love to share this in pattern making. But for another teacher to teach my pattern I believe is wrong.

I would love to teach you or your group how to do dimensional rug hooking. It is a lot of fun.

Rug Hooked Windy Santa

Rug hooked Free Standing Windy Santa.

This wonderful One of a Kind Rug Hooked Santa Doll stands almost 15" tall and is 8" wide at the widest point. He is hooked using wool strips that are One Eighth inch wide. This #6 cut of wool has given me the wonderful array of color in this Santa. All the wool used is quality 100% wool much of it hand dyed by me. Windy Santa is hooked in rich earth tone reds and greens in his toy sack. The snow at his feet is wonderful wool from Rebbeca Erb of the wool studio. This wool makes a great base color for this Santa. Windy Santa's beard and mustache are hooked with mohair. Did you notice the handle bars of his mustache? I have weighted the bottom of this Santa so it can stand well on it's own.

New Rug Hooked Fairy Tale Purse

This wonderful purse has found a new home in Delaware.

* Rug Hooked Little Red Riding Hood Purse *

The Big Bad Wolf is peeking around the tree stalking poor Little Red Riding Hood. She has been to grandma's house and is on her way down
the path that leads to the forest. She has her basket in hand with her red and white cloth covering laid over it.

What a unique one of a kind Hand Hooked Purse. This would look loving in any decor. You could also use this for a light duty purse.
The front of this purse is hand hooked with hand dyed wool strips in gorgeous colors. One Eighth inch wool strips have given
great detail to this Little Red Riding Hood purse.

This was inspired from a Bobbie Takashima Painting.
